Poem "he waits in the wings"

 Listening to a song

by a singer I had never heard

I kept mishearing her sing

"He wakes on the wind"

in the chorus

I was taken by the imagery

of the spirit she was singing about

who caused her trouble and pain

Waking on the wind

as if the wind would blow the trouble and  grief

swirling around her

and not blow it away
